Which waterless car wash product should I buy and how do I deal with muddy or very dirty cars?
I’ve seen so many products but all of the comments I’ve seen are company sponsored. Which one is the best? I also heard that washing a dirty car with a dry wash solution will scratch the paint. What should I do as I will be trying to wash my neighbors cars for $15.00. I don’t want to lose them as a customer because I’m not using the right product or because I don’t know the proper procedures to dry wash a car.
The best rinseless wash product is Optimum No Rinse. This is without a doubt, the best product mobile detailers have in their arsenal. 1-2 ounces of ONR solution in 2.5 gallons of water makes a perfect shampoo, and all you do is dry off the cleaned area with a towel, no rinsing necessary. Trust me, I also use this for my clay solution, my quick detail spray, interior cleaning, window cleaning. It leaves the paint surface slick and very glossy. The best stuff you can use period, and all you need is 2.5 gallons of water that you filled up from your tap water.
It’s also very safe for the finish. The polymers in the No Rinse solution basically grabs the dirt and encapsulates it so that it can’t scratch the paint. For really dirty and muddy cars, I might rinse the car down first with water, just to be a little safer. But most of the time, I’ll have a quick detail concentrate of ONR in a bottle, mist over the surface I’m going to clean, and then go over it with a good quality sponge or thick microfiber towel, and then dry immediately with a microfiber waffle weave. Go on any professional car detailing forums, and ask “What is ONR and is it good?” You’ll have about 20 responses in a few hours and all of them will be positive.
And to the person that gave me the thumbsdown, let’s see what you recommend. I’ve been detailing professionally for decades…I think I know a little about what I’m talking about.
