Is there a way to make A unsweetened Long island ice tea?
I want to drink this memorial day but stay away from Beer. Looking for something tasty but less calories and sugar. I may go with Sangria.
But if not was thinking of using plain Bacardi Rum in something. I know Bacardi and Diet coke is low in calories and carbs. But I don’t drink soda since it can take the paint off your car, sugar-free or not.
Do you think this would be good, or a waste of time.
A. Fresh white tea boiled, then chilled. (No Sugar)
Fresh lemon, lime juice, apple and ginger juice from juicer machine.
Then Bacardi plain, splash of vodka, and maybe grand Marnia
Maybe I can use a touch of Agave or Honey.
Shaken on the rocks with lime or orange wedge.
If this idea is going to taste like crap without having sugar let me know, or if you think its a brilliant way to get messed up without all the calories. Let me know if you have a better idea. Thanks
That’s not a Long Island Iced Tea. A Long Island has no actual tea in it, it’s vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey, a splash of cola and a little bit of sour mix. Your drink will probably be fine. Your should know, though, that most of the calories in ANY alcoholic drink come from the ethanol. Ethanol has 7 calories/gram while sugar has 4 calories/gram.
