Looking at a used car from Carmax, Help?
I’m still in my teens and I’m looking at a 2010 Ford Mustang off of the Carmax website. It costs about 21K, which isn’t really a problem, but as I calculated my estimated monthly payment…it asked about APR and a lot of other terminology that I’m not quite familiar with. Can anyone help me to prepare myself with some–I dunno, background information, I guess? So when I talk to someone whether there, or over the phone, even via email, I don’t sound like a ditz? Also, is it possible that you can tell me a place in or near Los Angeles, CA that is a good auto body paint shop? The car is kind of cheap, but the color…is white. :/ I want a shiny BLACK one.
PLEASE & THANK YOU (:
Ok, take a step back, please, before you make some serious mistakes.
First of all, you need to find out what you can afford, what your credit looks like and what your interest rate (APR) will be.
Go to your local credit union and speak with a loan representative. They will have you fill out a loan application and will give you a much more competitive interest rate than any dealer. They will also be realistic on what you can qualify for (based on your income) and explain the whole process of buying a car.
In addition, many credit unions also have partnerships with dealerships to get you a discount on the purchase of a vehicle.
If you have parents that can help you with this, please consult with them.
Trust me, you do not want to ever paint a vehicle that doesn’t need to be painted.
Besides totally destroying your resale value, the cost of a showroom-quality paintjob is going to cost you over $5,000 in California.
You would be better off buying a brand new 2011 Mustang that came black, from the factory.
Sure, you can get the ‘$399 Maaco special’, but it’s little more than just spray-painting your car. In a year, you will be sorry.
