Will I be better off spray painting the car myself, or taking it to Maaco or Earl Scheib? 10 pts!!!?
As you can see in the pictures, the paint is starting to turn chalky white. I do not have the money to spend hundreds of dollars on a paint job for this car, because it is a 1994. Should I get a paint job from Maaco or Earl Scheib or should i just spray paintit myself. I have the exact color match in the spray can. What’s your experience with these two places??

I sold to Body Shops for 10 years. Although the expertise of the painter is very important, so is the preparation. To save $$, maybe if you did all the sanding by hand yourself in advance, then had Maaco spray it. (Maaco over Earl Scheib unless you know of a good earl schieb) The mass production in keeping costs down in those shops usually do not allow them much time in sanding your car properly. If you did a good, detailed job of sanding the car complete yourself, you might get a better outcome and a better price from the shop. Best of luck!
