What is the procedure called when you perfect your car’s paint job to get a mirror reflection?
I just got my whole car repainted black, but i noticed that the reflection of myself on the car is not as smoothe like it used to be. Before i was able to see myself very clearly like a mirror, but now its all ripply and twisted and such. What can i do to fix this? and how much would it cost at a body shop? woud i be able to do this on my own?
That my friend is what we call “orange peel.” Unfortunately, nearly every automaker has them except Lexus, Ferrari,Lambos , etc. (BMW’s/Mercedes are known for having terrible orange peeling) I suggest you do not do it by yourself if you are not skilled with a rotary and do not have a paint depth analysis. You would need to wetsand the effected area then follow through using a compound with a wool pad. Next, use a mild polish with either a white or orange. I usually charge my clients somewhere between 600-900 for that process alone. It takes 2 days to complete to have 98% of the imperfections removed.
