Where to sell my artwork../ Car boot fans wanted?
Is a car boot sale a good place to sell artwork?
I paint in my spare time, & am just trying to make an extra bit of cash, so am wondering if anyone on here goes to car boots & if paintings sell well?
I do quite contemporary portraits of people’s idols, musical, sporting etc. Thought about e-bay, but with postage & packing etc I don’t know if it would be worth the money, as i’m only planning on selling for around £10/£20 each max & it’s more of a part time hobby.

I’m in the states so I really can’t be specific in saying to do this or go here to you in England. But I will throw in my two cents being that you asked. Here besides the hoity-toity galleries,in which I show. there are alternative spaces/galleries. To be honest they are a lot more fun that the so called real galleries. Anyway.these alternatives spaces usually do not limit the amount of artist in their “stable” but are usually a lot more democratic in giving people an opportunity to exhibit their work. Another option might be coffee shops and restaurants some of which like the idea of having a changing decor of various artist displaying their work. In this situation I really can’t say what the money arrangements are,commission ,consignment I have no idea..And here there are art fairs which maybe something similar to your selling from your car boot. Except here people use these tent like/awning things on four legs, There seems to be quite a few artist that do sell exclusively through ebay. In fact my sister has dealings with one regularly.( google, cart before the horse). Well I hope that you do well in which ever route you decide to take.
