My wife and I live in Florida. About three weeks ago she was driving and suddendly she notice a the police?
flashed the lights on her. She did not know why for she had done nothing wrong. The cop came up to the car and asked her for insurance, registration and driver license. The cop told my wife her license was suspended. He gave her a ticker for not having insurance and driving while suspended. He also took her license. My wife went and got her insurance restored and paid her license restoration. Apparently she stopped paying insurance and the insurance company contacted tallahassee because she stopped paying insurance and they suspended her license.
Now she has to go to court this thursday.. Does she need to hire an attorney to go to court. Or could she go to court and plead not guilty and ask for a public attorney.
No, Don’t waste your money. She was guilty so there is nothing to fight. You would be entitled to a public defender if you are poor. I would plead “no contest” and pay the fine. Then quit driving illegally.
