CAR RESTORATION HOBBY
Can I get some help with my sudden change of lifestyle?

Okay I really how to ask this but let me explain. About a year ago, I really started pondering spirituality, God, the universe, etc. About 8 months ago I became an atheist. At first I wasn’t too changed. But my friends have said I’ve changed. And I’ve also become quite depressed. I thought about life after death, and the thought of non-existence made me even more depressed. I continue to ask myself, “If we forget everything when we die, what’s the point of living?”
I have thought about suicide a lot. But I’m pretty sure I have a strong will to live.
I don’t have fun with normal hobbies anymore like car restoration. Music, although I still love it, has lost some of it’s importance! I don’t know what’s happening!
I used to be so happy! Now I’m extremely pessimistic and depressed.
And I just need some guidance or something.
Thanks in advance.

Okay first congrats on coming to your sense. Experience is a great teacher. Every one changes, that is the way life works. We mature, we learn, we grow.

Have you ever read a really great song that just sends shivers down your spine? Sometimes when I hear a song that I really love, that I haven’t heard in so long that I forgot it even existed, I just get an feeling of such a rush of emotion. It makes me feel like I can do anything.

The point of living is to feel those great feelings and if you can make other people feel them too. Its to find the love of your life and embrace the awe and majesty that being a intelligent being in the universe.

As far as being happy again, get the book Learned Optimism out the library. It really works and will tum you around.

Hang in there.
