Would you add ZDDP to your 1985 classic car’s Oil?
I have a 1985 Jaguar XJ6. it is my Restoration, it is not bad but the floorboards are rusty (holes, i can see the road) and i need to do a couple of things to it
As far as the engine Oil is concerned, i now see that 40Psi of Oil pressure at Hot Idle with 20W-50 means everything is fine and there is no need to worry. i honestly tought i had a problem with High Oil Pressure.
Since my engine has “Roller tappets” they are not 100% Flat, this is another reason why Jaguar says to use the 20W-50 (or 5W-50 or whatever is 50) Its the 4.2L Inline 6, would you add a quart of the ZDDP additive to the Oil to help the engine out, does this engine need it?
