Paint restoration?
I don’t have a Merc, but rather a 1965 Daimler 2.5 (same shape as the Jaguar Mk2), and as there’s no Daimler or Jaguar site here, I thought I’d try this one. I’ve completed all the mechanical work on my Daimler, but the paintwork & chrome has not been touched for the past 25 years, and I want to restore it as much as possible myself (out of $). I’ve given it a good wash with a heavy duty truck detergent, and that’s moved 90% of the grime, and I have tried normal car polish and elbow grease, but got nowhere. The colour is BR Green, and the duco is craized in a few spots, but seems otherwise OK (plenty of meat left). Any ideas would be appreciated.
there is a pretty inexpenssive product line called black magic.they have a product made specially to shine paint .it works awesome.don’t let the price fool you .it works good.it is about 3 dollars a bottle.walmart sales it. good luck.
