restoring old cars HELP!!?
Hi, i was wondering if theres any good websites or books out there that help you with the complete restoration of old cars like 1920s-1940s cars that where its basically just a shell.
any ideas or tips?
thanks
If you have just a shell, you probably won’t make a job of it, despite your enthusiasm now.
You at least need a knackered, but complete donor-car, which can give you all the fittings, such as the interior (even if it is just seat-frames to copy, door-cards to use as a template) and glass, which can also show you the location of clutch master-cylinders and brake-systems, wiring-loom routes, etc. Starting from a bare, rusty shell, for a beginner, is not likely to lead to success.
Advertise, or scour the internet for a likely donor – at least then, that car gets built into yours – two bad cars become one survivour!
