Restoring a classic or buying a new car?
I found a 1969 Z28 camaro I want to buy. The body is straight with a few little dings but needs paint. Interior needs complete restoration. 302 V8 engine runs and is complete. 4speed transmission and rear end also work but are old. I want to rebuild this car and keep it maybe give it to my son when he’s older. My wife dosent understand this find, she thinks I should buy a new car. The price is right and I think it’s a good investment. Does any one know how hard it might be to find parts for a car like this?
If you found a 1969 Z28 with 302 you are truly blessed, the production numbers on the 302 ci Z’s are super low which translates into….your sitting on a gold mine. The parts to restore are readily and cheaply available at alot of different places.Year One,the Paddock, and Goodmark are just a few good places to check.I was lucky enuf to find a 1969 Gto Convertible needing restored and would never suggest buying a new car versus restoring a true piece of American Musclecar history.Your a guy,you know the right thing to do lol.Good luck in your restoration.
