My car was hit at work by a employee that has insurance. I own a old car with a very expensive paint job.?
Will his insurance company give me a hard time about custom paint repair? The car Blue Books for about 2k. the damage is about 5k. There is 6 different colors that need to be color blended. All “House of Color” colors. So no issue matching colors.
Sorry, but unless you purchased some kind of special policy covering the expensive paint job, you can’t get it repaired without going into pocket. Your policy covers the car as painted and equipped from the factory.
As an insurance broker, I can tell you I never issued such a policy, except on classic cars with values in the $50,000 to $500,000 range.
Sorry! His insurance is liable for the actual cash value of the car, not the custom paint job.
