Best way to approach a minor paint job?
I purchased my car from a private seller about 2 years ago, he had had the car custom painted 3 years prior to that a pearlescent white. Now I am starting to notice that the roof of the car has started to become discolored and is turning more of an eggshell white. I’m wondering if I should just go to maaco or something and try to get them to match the roof to the rest. My local tech school has also offered to do it if I supply materials. I really don’t want to put alot of money into it because I plan on getting another car whithin the next 2-2 1/2 years. What would be the best way to get the roof matched to the rest?
I used Maaco to paint my daughter’s Nissan. The paint was OK, nothing great. It sounds as if the original owner spent alot of $$ in painting the car, but that you don’t want to invest that large of an amount. Why not just let it be? if the paint is not peeling/chipping off, who cares that the roof is another shade?
If you absolutely have to have it done, then I would probably have the tech school do it. You know they will probably do the best job they can and will take pride in doing a job well done. As for Maaco, I probably wouldn’t let them ruin the original job.
