I need some help finding supplies for a model car..?
I bought my fiance a plastic model car as a birthday gift (it’s the exact match to his 87 iroc camaro). It took me ages to find the model itself, and in all my excitement over finding one, not once did it occur to me that I should look for paint/supplies as well.
Since I’ve never really been into this type of thing, I’m not really sure exactly what I’m looking for. I don’t have much to spend on this, either.
Nosing around online, I did find a chevy engine red, which seems to be about the same as his car, but I was wondering if it is just a bright red, or is there an orange tone to it?
I am also not sure which type of paint is best to use – acrylic or something else? And what should I look for as far as glue?
I know these seem like silly questions, I just want to make sure I get the right stuff! Thanks for any help =]
I will not admit how many years ago I last put a model together, but back then Testors was the best company around with everything you probably need. Sometimes model kits come with supplies like glue, so you might want to read the model box. I also found a web page with Camaro colors.
