Need serious advice about my car dilemma.?
I bought a 2007 Nissan Altima about a month ago and even though the Carfax showed no accidents, my personal mechanic told me my car has been in an accident before. Its originally black and the cover up of poor paint job is totally obvious that the car was in fact in an accident.
Now, if my private mechanic could tell the effects of the accident, does that mean the Nissan dealership I got my car from knew it as well? They had to have known considering they have Nissan certified professionals working in their garages.
My question is what should I do at this point?
Really………what do I do?
I want to call their service manager and talk to him.
What should I expect from him to say?
Also, my car started whistling when I break, and they told me my breaks were all brand new. My private mechanic changed my brakes and they were worn out.

I don’t expect there is much, if anything, you can do. Dealers are not required to disclose prior damage and unless you inquired specifically about any prior damage and requested that the dealer include a specific declaration in the purchase agreement stating that there is no prior damage then I doubt you can do anything. But even if there is no specific declaration in the purchase agreement stating that there is no prior damage, if you can prove that you inquired about prior damage and prove that the dealer made a verbal declaration stating that there is no prior damage then you might be able to do something, although that would be something very difficult, if not impossible, to prove.
You need to stay focused on details when you buy a used car and if there are answers to questions that will determine whether or not you will purchase the car then you need to get those answers in writing on the purchase agreement.
